The Types of EV Charging Points Available

The installation of commercial EV charging points is a great way for businesses to show their commitment to sustainability. We can supply and install commercial EV charging points for businesses to suit any requirements. We have a range of ultra-fast, rapid chargers that can charge EVs in a matter of minutes, as well as standard chargers.

Standard EV Chargers

Standard EV chargers have an output of between 3kw and 6kw, making them ideal for when charging isn’t time sensitive. They can also take between 8-14 hours to charge fully, depending on the vehicle. This makes them a great option for businesses to offer their employees and customers a convenient and reliable way to charge their EVs.

Fast Chargers

If you are a commercial business or public facility looking to install EV charging points, fast chargers are the best option. They offer a balance between cost-effective installation and charging time. Fast chargers typically have an output of 7-22kw and can charge an EV in 4-6 hours. This makes them ideal for commercial locations where people may need to charge their EVs quickly.

Rapid Chargers

Depending on the manufacturer and model, rapid chargers typically have a 50kw output and can charge a car in less than an hour. Even though the initial cost of installing these chargers is higher, some organisations, such as those with a fleet of electric delivery vans that need to be promptly recharged, must have them.

Super-Rapid Chargers

The most advanced charging technique is available with super fast chargers, which typically have an output of over 100kw. Only vehicles that can handle these extremely high charging rates, such as Tesla’s charging stations, which frequently can function at rates of up to 150kw, are permitted to use these ports for charging. They are perfect for public charging networks that want to give customers on the road access to ultra-fast charging.

OLEV/OZEV Compliant

We adhere to and follow the requirements for charging points defined by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) and Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV). With QUEST, y Your charging port will be installed to the greatest standards, giving you peace of mind.

EV Government Grants

You can install electric vehicle charging stations for your business with the help of several government grants. The Electric Car Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) offers grant money to help cover the cost of setting up electric vehicle charging stations at residential properties throughout the UK.

The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) is a voucher-based programme that assists qualified businesses, non-profit organisations, and government agencies with the upfront costs of buying and installing electric vehicle charge points. For the installation of charging points, domestic premises will receive £350 per home, while commercial organisations can claim £350 per charging station, up to a maximum of 40 units.
